Plenio

I worked on Plenio, a multilingual job-search and recruitment platform. I built and maintained backend APIs and web applications for user profiles, CVs, job matching, and employer tools, including AI-assisted processing, background tasks, billing, and localization.

My Work at Plenio

I contributed across four parts of Plenio: the Django backend, the recruiter dashboard, the job seeker application, and the translation service. My work focused on employer onboarding and job creation, localization, search and translation workflows, and improvements to the day-to-day recruiter experience.

Employer onboarding and company data

I built backend support for suggesting companies during employer onboarding. This included looking up companies by name, combining company-provider results, preparing suggestions around login, mapping a provider’s headquarters to the company location, and carrying a suggested company description into the onboarding flow. I also updated the recruiter interface to display and animate company suggestions, avoid excessive typed lookups, and cover the main suggestion paths.

I improved the location integration as provider data changed, including support for updated Google Place details and localized place suggestions. In the backend, I centralized location normalization so country and city values stay consistent while preserving the existing flat API shape. I updated the callers that use normalized locations and added coverage for the normalization behavior.

Job creation and matching

I worked on the guided recruiter job-creation flow, including its question order, salary-range question, preset workload choices, and summary and question screens. I added the ability to cancel job creation and updated the backend to represent cancelled jobs. I also adjusted the progress experience for job creation and updates, including how progress is presented during the flow.

On the backend, I added support for storing the minimum salary in salary ranges and improved handling for cases where the local matching database is unavailable. I also worked on requirements around job preferences and matching setup so the creation flow can handle incomplete or optional preference data.

Recruiter dashboard and candidate workflows

I made a series of improvements to recruiter-facing workflows and interface details. These included candidate notifications, job salary currency selection, job update transitions, onboarding navigation, organization and profile settings, and toast styling. I also localized shared controls, industry search prompts, generic API errors, and place suggestions in the recruiter application.

I contributed to candidate pipeline changes in the dashboard, including accepted-candidate categorization and the outreach wizard. In the backend, I added a requirement for a complete organization address during billing setup and added a soft-skill search endpoint used by product flows.

Localization and translation

I connected additional API data and search routes to Plenio’s translation service. On the response side, I added or corrected enrichment for education lists, volunteering locations, the B2B language catalog, team job titles, candidate job listings, personalities, hobbies, and hard and soft skill catalogs.

I also worked on translating user-entered values before they reach the core service. This covered submitted hobby names, education degrees, hard and soft skill names, and job titles. For localized discovery, I wired or corrected search routes for cities, hobbies, and hard and soft skills, including serving localized results from the translation index where available.

Job seeker application and account flows

In the job seeker application, I implemented outreach invitation support in the signup and login flows. I also updated search integrations for cities, hobbies, and hard skills to use the appropriate localized or dedicated endpoints, and corrected French text on the candidate not-found page.

Summary

My contributions connected backend behavior with the recruiter and job seeker interfaces. They covered company and location data, job creation and matching, candidate workflows, localization, and translation-aware search across Plenio’s services.
